  1. Sticky rice and squid sausage

Sticky rice is a common dish in Vietnamese cuisine; however, sticky rice with squid sausage is a Ha Long’s unique feature that tourists cannot have anywhere else. Squid sausage is a mixture of fresh squids and seasonings deep fried in hot oil. It is often served with a special fish sauce and best tasted with some coriander.

Unlike most varieties of wine, which are made from fermented fruit, Hoành Bồ wine is made from fermented glutinous rice and fermented leaves in Hoành Bồ forest, with a process in which yeast transforms the sugars into alcohol.


Tasting sweet and a bit sour, it is proved to be good for digestive system, thus is one of the most consumed beverage in Ha Long.
